People are assuming haters are hating on her as a person, when its more likely to just be her music. It's OK to have different tastes. No one looks up creators of music they aren't interested in, so it's unlikely they even form a hateful opinion.

I think a lot of people could take a page from her book. In life you are going to have to do things and make choices, and for everything you do or choose, there are going to be people who disagree with you. It will be impossible to have the approval of 100% of people 100% of the time, and in the end, it doesn't matter what the random joe shmoe on the street thinks about what you have done. All that matters is how you and the ones you love (including God, if you are so inclined) feel about what you have done.

I don't really hate her but I just don't like her. She is so quirky and privileged. It's irrational I know. And I find offensive that she says that maybe "I don't understand her". I totally get her, is just that I don't like her or her music.
