The PESTLE Analysis are six factors that might influence an organization. PESTLE stands for Political, Economic, Social, Technology, Legal, and environmental of a new industry or market. Political deals with how much a government is involved in an industry, such as policies, regulations, government officials changing. Economic factors deal with aspects of the economy, such as inflation rates or the spending patterns of consumers. Social factors are the behaviors or preferences, which impact customer beliefs or expectations and demographics. Technology deals with changes in the market, such as new advancements in products. One famous example is the internet and can be a treat or opportunity. Legal deals with regulation changes in the industry, such as employment laws which affect how a company may operate. Environmental deal with the carbon footprint of an organization.

A PESTEL analysis is used to identifying threats and weaknesses which can be found in a SWOT analysis. Political factors include such as the government policies, leadership, and change; foreign trade policies; internal political issues and trends; tax policy; regulation and de-regulation trends.
