Mozart's Piano Sonata in A K331 has a killer theme... simple melody and chords, but expressive and powerful in its economy. Much to steal from!

I really love playing the Mozart sonatas for piano. What I find really powerful is that everything revolves around the theme (actually a simple motive) with simple harmony but the voice leading, the minimalism are perfect.
Emanuel Ax is really an excellent pianist. His interpretation of Brahms sonata for piano and cello are really wonderful.

Thanks for showing me things I would not have otherwise seen. When I was in my teens, I listened to classical music much more than the rock music of my time. I was familiar with this melody, and it is very cool to get some insight into what Mozart is doing here.

Coincedence. I don't play piano, but I'm busy with K533. I do dance music.

*gasp* You uttered the forbidden. "Rhythm, melody and harmony." Excluding the rest of music theory (see wikipedia) these three concentrated are the easiest to relate to everyone down to eight years old. And they ARE in Mozarts corner when it comes to making any modern compositional idioms!

Lovely video.

Mozart was actually born in 1756.
