US holds drills with Asian allies after North Korea’s ICBM launch

The United States has held air exercises with South Korea and Japan involving strategic bombers, a day after North Korea fired a Hwasong-15 intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).
South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said the exercises on Sunday demonstrated the allies’ “overwhelming” defence capabilities and readiness.

Former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo,
in a memoir released on the Jan 24th, describes
his meeting with Kim Jong-un, who was secretly
visiting North Korea in March 2018 when he was
the director of the US Central Intelligence Agency
(CIA). Introduced exchanges.

In exchanges about China, Pompeo said, "China is
consistently telling the United States that you want
American troops to leave South Korea." Kim Jong-un then

Based on the talks, Pompeo said, "North Korea will not
care at all even if the United States expands its missile
and ground forces to the Korean Peninsula."
