The Boondocks - Anime Opening | 'Battlecry' (Samurai Champloo OP)

Sup everyone. Hope y'all are all doing well in these, insane times. In the midst of all this I've still been creating, and I decided that it should be something that really has been keeping me going throughout all of this. With HBO Max now available, I've been reliving through the series the past few days. The Boondocks is one of my favorite shows and comic strips of all time. It really helped me as a kid at 10 years old (who had no business watching this) when it premiered feel cool.

The mixture of anime and hip hop and my black experience has been my personality forever, so the show has always spoke to me. And the only song that would be perfect for this is none other the OP for the anime that inspired the Boondocks own opening. And whoever watches Boondocks knows it's full of anime references left and right in almost every episode. So with that, I hope you all enjoy this. And hope you all stay safe.

As stated in the description, The Boondocks is one of my favorite shows ever if not my favorite cartoon right next to Avatar the Last Airbender. This was something I was surprised wasn’t done (from what I could find on YT) considering how much the first intro is inspired by Samurai Champloo’s intro. But it had to be done!

I just discovered Nujabes & life hasn't been the same. I cried when I learnt he had died. He left such a legacy.

Funny enough when I was listening to his music, kept thinking about Samura Champloo then realised it was him all along
