Your breaking of words into syllabus and then pronouncing it is really helpful. Plus telling about the origins of word is a treat.

I'm a kindergarten teacher, and for the first time I have two Turkish students (not related just a coincidence) and I hope that learning at least a couple of words might help them feel a bit more comfortable in my class. Thank you!

Ms Seda, Çok teşekkür ederim! As a teenager living in Ankara for a couple years, I tried to use the greetings and farewells correctly. But because I once embarassed myself by saying güle güle, when I was the one departing, I avoided using the term thereafter! Being unaccustomed to the lovely hospitality which I experienced during my stay in Türkiye, I naturally wanted to communicate with my hosts. I also enjoyed speaking the little Turkish that I learned, because it rolls off the tongue nicely!

hahaha It's really interesting how Arabic and Turkish are so similar to each other even in greetings customs for example we basically do the same thing here in Syria, and the funny thing that here if you said "Selam" as Hello the other person would be confused cuz in Arabic it means Bye

Ulan bunlar tütkçe öğrenmeye çalışıyor ya, ingilizce öğrenmek için uğraştıklarımı hatırlayıp bunun 10 katının gerektiğini düşünüp sonra brnim native speaker olduğumu hatırlıyor ve mutlu oluyorum.

The word “Marhaba” existed in the East before Islam and was used by Christians who spoke Aramaic and Syriac. It is divided into two parts, “Mar” and “Haba.” The word “Mar” means “God or Master” and “Haba” means love, and collecting them together gives us the term “God is love.” Where God’s blessing of love comes, peace comes.
