Keep your shaving brush soft for years to come using this quick tutorial! Shaving brushes can get build up that hinders the creation of a good lather and over time can collect oils that might cause irritation, inflammation, or acne.

So be sure to take care of your brush so it can take care of you!

I shave damn near every day, head and face. The brushes I wind up using, I do this weekly, and it truly does make a difference in the brush, especially to the older brushes. It's basic maintenance if you are a true wet shaving aficionado. Fantastic video Matt. Glad to see that myself and my family weren't the only ones that were out there doing this.

NO CLEANING NEEDEDThe best Shave Brush on the market today is my Simpson Trafalgar's T-3 better then boar cheaper in the long run it is 29mm. i mic it' it's like buying a $275 badger hair brush, no cleaning the brush, no need for a brush stand, fast drying time, well not fall apart like a badger hair or boar can, cheap to buy, I have owned it for 5 years with no hair loss with no problems wheelchair Larry Merry Christmas

I have vintage shoebrushes from the 40s. One boar and one horshair and they're still going strong.

Excellent advise. My 25 plus year old daily use badger brush continues like a champion with this type of care.

Hi Matt- Great brushcare tutorial; thank you! This is the first time I have heard of clarifying shampoo; I’ll definitely look for some for my brushes. Thanks again and I hope you have a great weekend ahead of you. All the best!

Yes, that is perfect advice and so simple. I learned this from one of your older videos. Funny, and bought the clarifying shampoo and conditioner for my shaving brush, and now I use it on my hair....Hahaha! Thanks Matt!👍

Good info video. I wash - condition - comb my brushes about once a month, keeps them in good shape. I feel a good hand soap like Ivory or Palmolva do just fine for cleaning.

I never knew you should or how to clean a brush. I learned how to shave from my Grandfather who was a Barber back in the day when Barbers shaved as much as they cut hair. He gave me his old shortened brushes, so I just thought that’s what happens to old brushes, I still have one, but never use it. Thanks, I’ll take better care my brushes, now that I know better.

Good, practical video. When you look at the $$ that we can easily sink in brushes, a little maintainence is time well spent. Thanks & have a great weekend. Zac

Great video. Now I am learning WHY I lost my use that clarifying Now one more thing to mention: there is an abnormal obsession by many people to use alum after their ruins after washing your face (which should be done), people touch their brushes w will deteriorate the lather to come.. All those using put lather on your face and then directly apply the alum to see. and later wash it out with the rest of what happens
