I’m a big Columbo fan but I thought this episode was bad.

He fainted? Yah, sure. Otherwise 3 out of 5 stars, some solid moments mostly involving Brenda Vacarro.

I think there are 6 weak episodes in the final two seasons (20 eps in total) this being one of them. The story isn't too bad but the main actors in it are terrible and it is permanently stuck in "daytime soap" mode. Whilst the original run of series probably only had 2 weak episodes: "Last Salute to the Commodore" and "Dagger of the Mind" (my own personal least favourite). That being said a lot of the later episodes are still great and often unfairly criticized.

I didn't like any of the characters. The writing and cast are weak, although Brenda Vaccaro has a few decent moments. If not for Peter Falk, I would have skipped it.
