Welcome back to Aurora Tech Channel. Today, I will review the xTool D1 Pro 20W laser engraver. This is the most powerful desktop diode laser engraver that I have reviewed so far. Generally, most desktop engravers come with a 5W or 10W laser module, which is good for engraving but not cutting. I will test it out and see what kind of cutting power we can get from this 20W module.

Besides that, the xTool D1 also has a very nice appearance. The frame is pretty different from those standard 20 by 20 extrusion frames. It also comes with WiFi support, safety features like a frame detector that stops the machine if it catches fire, a gyroscope to stop the machine during unexpected moving or drops during operating, and an air assist nozzle connector that allows you to connect any air pump or an aquarium pump with a standard 3/16” tubing. It uses inductive limit switches on both the X and Y-axis, and there is a lever attached to the laser module for you to adjust the focal length easily. For the motion system, instead of rubber wheels, it uses steel wheels and shafts, which should be more durable. There are eight risers for you to raise the machine when working with taller materials or working with a rotary roller. It also comes with its own xTool Creative space, which is very easy to use.

Even I had my flame sensor set to high, you managed to set me on fire for this laser engraver. Great review, very informative. I would have liked you cut/engrave more materials like acrylic, leather, cloth or PVC but I am aware you have to draw the line somewhere. I just bought the 10w D1 Pro and RA2 rotary tool bundle from MakeBlock on Amazon. This is my 1st laser machine. After figuring out what power and speed to use on the material you’re working with, it is easy to use. I had an issue with the RA2 and Alex from MakeBlock gave me excellent support and kept me notified on what they were doing to correct the problem. I also bought the air assist and honeycomb bed which also comes with a metal plate to put under it to protect your table. I have the extension rails coming that doubles the length of the work area.
