Bad ABS wheel speed sensor

The car would abruptly brake out of nowhere so I had a feeling it was the abs wheel speed sensor. not bad for an 18 year old car.

The inner seal has both magnetic poles alternating “North” and “South” around the perimeter. The sensor is 3 wire is Hall effect sensor or if 2 wire, permanent magnetic generator. Metal dust from road & rust messes up the signal an enters into un-desired ABS event, on dry pavement. I guess a $5 tone ring is too expensive! 😮

Indeed I have the same issue, on front left wheel, some time brakes by itself.

In another video I saw that cleaning the Abs sensor and the inside where it is located will fix it too. Perhaps no new one is needed, because the dirt and dust will make it read bad, causing it to brake.

I realize I'm a bit late to this party but I could use some suggestions and expertise
i bought a '04 Honda Accord, last owned by a young teen driver. Yes female but I care not. The whole drive suspension was replaced, Im talking engine and Tranny mounts, upper/lower control arms, tie rods, ball joints, abs sensots and cv axles. I ran out of money and still need struts and new tires. I'm no mechanic but successfully removed and installed all this myself but the issue i need help with is what you discussed here- the gunk i was removing on the inside of the wheel bearing didn’t get removed cuz i thought maybe it was a layer of magnet or something the sensor is supposed to read. It’s like 1 mm thick i thought possibly a seal? I can remove all that down to the bare metal of the bearing outer seal? Thank you your videos are dope! Happy new year

Hey I have a 2007 Chevy Silverado, and when I turn on the truck and put it In drive the truck basically breaks hard . I turn the traction control off and it drives smooth. Any suggestions

couldve checked it witah a bi-directional scan tool or scope no disassembly required.

An acquaintance of mine told me to soak the sensor in toilet bowl cleaner for about 15 minutes then dry it and put it back.

My acura mdx sh does it a little different, still cant figure out what it is. I cleaned, replaced and replaced brakes and still pulsates while braking

The fact that u said that my bwm speed sensor ripped after an accident and I didn’t know once I used it on sport mode it braked and engine went out 💀

I had all my brakes changed and motor mounts changed alot if things. Lincoln MKZ 2012 . IT would stop and I had Wheelbearings also changed and the advice Trac light kept coming on and like something was was wrong. I parked it then it wouldn't start at all after few weeks . What is all the orange stuff on my wheels

Is it safe to disconnect the abs module on a 2004 Sequoia? I can hear the pump screaming and the brake is locking up front passenger side. It has a yellow airbag wire going into it. Ughhh. Subbed thanks!

I am going through that right now with my car. It feels as if the car is braking
while I am accelerating. The ABS system is a piece of crap. It just makes cars
more complicated. The main thing that should be working at all times on
each wheel is the brakes. That is paramount in importance.
