Alexander de Seversky was a Russian born US aviator and inventor/ engineer and was one of those commissioned by the US Govt to report his observations on the aftermath of the destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. He reported that what he saw in those two cities was exactly the same as what he observed in all the other Japanese cities that had been fire bombed with high incendiary ordinance. In other words they were fire bombed not nuked .
