The fourth drop from a series of performance films taken from Damon Albarn's solo show at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre London - a live performance of Blur's 'This Is a Low'.

Accompanied by his band and a string quartet, the performance marked a rare solo appearance for Albarn, who presented tracks from across his songbook, including new single 'Royal Morning Blue' from forthcoming album The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows. Recorded 20th September, 2021.

Out November 12 on Transgressive Records, The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows, was originally intended as an orchestral piece inspired by the landscapes of Iceland. The new album has seen Albarn return to the music in lockdown over the past year and develop 11 tracks that explore themes of fragility, loss, emergence and rebirth. The result is a panoramic collection of songs with Albarn as storyteller. The title is taken from a John Clare poem Love and Memory.

After this my kid turned to me, bright-eyed with astonishment, and said “That’s the first time I’ve ever seen Blur songs played live!” ❤️

nice Les Dawson piano solo in there. Nobody has done more for music in the last 30 years than our Damon. Incredible

Simon is a fantastic guitar player and for reasons I don´t entirely understand, I love that he didn´t even try to re-create Coxon´s sick solo part. Damon´s dissonant "solo" came a bit unexpected, but I really enjoyed the idea. Love this song, though I´m not English or British.

This is a low, young & lovely, best days, sweet song and strange news are the tracks I still listen now.

This live performance is new yet familiar but that piano solo is awesome

One of the songs that kept somewhere tuck nicely inside your brain and occasionally comes out to enjoy the sunlight when it wants to play by itself.
