Mini roundabouts | Where to look and what to do

Mini roundabouts. Where to look on approach to a mini roundabout is what we are going to look at today. I have set up cameras to the front of the car and to the right side so you can see what I see.
As you already know the MSPSL(mirrors, single, position, speed and look) routine I will tell you what is happening on the approach to a #miniroundabout and where to look and what is happening at the mini roundabout. We will cover on the mini roundabouts, left turns, right turns and going ahead at the mini roundabouts.

Good video, I find new drivers often struggle with mini roundabouts, often because they try treat them like a t-junctions, trying to give way to both the left and right.

Even if the learner knows they have priority over the left they often still want to stop and just make sure the vehicle on the left will stop, but of course if you stop then the vehicle on the left reads it as you are being hesitant or giving way so they take away your priority and pull out.

I often find the key is after you have checked it is clear to the right then keep the wheels moving slowly and if you keep moving the traffic from the left will almost always give way, and because you are moving slowly if the traffic from the left does not give way you can easily stop if needed.

In terms of who to give way to I like to think "Vehicles coming from the right which would pass across your front" There is a confusing situation where the council has converted a side road on the left to a mini roundabout junction and you need to effectively give way to oncoming traffic. You only need to give way to the ones that pass across your front.

should you always be in gear 2 when approaching mini roundabouts? sometimes i've felt changing to gear 2 on approach has slowed the car down too much (when the mini roundabout looks obviously clear). thanks.

I tried to book my driving test today, I logged on at 8am and two hours later I got through, but they didn't have any date available from now until six weeks later , at Hendon, mill hill, greenford and South hall .
Even tho when i check availability they say the tests centres has low availability at Hendon, mill hill, Greenfield, South hall. This is very upsetting . They need to sort it out. They will reopen again on Monday the 7th of September at 8am and I can bet it's going to happen again, no spaces at any of the test centres I want. What to do as I don't want to wait until 2021 to get a driving test.

Great video. Just a quick question, if on a mini roundabout, first exit is left and second is straight ahead but there is wall or pavement on your right, I mean you can't go right. In that case we will give left signal on the approach for going left and right signal for going straight so that traffic behind may not get confused. Is it correct or we shouldn't signal at all for going straight on a mini roundabout?

if you’re approaching a mini roundabout with no right branch, and there’s a car straight ahead with no signal (therefore assuming they’re going straight) would it be a fault if you stop anyway until they’re gone since some drivers may not indicate and end up turning right anyway?

Not a good video for learner drivers, you don't explain how to do the mirror, signals and how to spefically do a right or left turn
