HELLO so ive watched this a couple of times and heres my interpretation of the video!!

i think its overall about how people change and turn themselves into something their not, (“i fear who i am becoming”) until they cant recognize who they are anymore. 

(throughout this i refer to demons: these arent literal demons, im referring to inner demons, like vices etc)

in the first scene, we can see the someone whispering something to the character. because they look just like her, i think of her like an inner demon, telling her shes not enough. the way her eye twitches a little bit is just how shes losing her grip on herself. then, in a blink, the demon is gone, and shes all alone. she cups her face in her hands - i think shes kind of tired (?) of her thoughts, and that just signifies how shes finally given in to the temptation.

then we see the transformation to a ‘platter’, and from the way the animation works i think the girl at 0:06 is actually whats being fed. shes kind of sweating and distressed, and the way she cups her head again makes me think thats its actually herself: shes offering herself up to be ‘eaten’ by her demons.

THEN, a jarring difference to a bright blue sky. the girl is back, and her expressionless face as she aims her finger gun means thats shes accepted that shes metaphorically shooting herself in the head. (or its just me reading too much into it)

next we see her looking at herself in the mirror: the slight smile in her reflection could be her demons. as the reflection crawls out, i think its kind of like how her demons have now finally become part of her reality. at 0:15 we see the demon smirking, as her ‘self’ is bloody and crying. again, shes given herself up to be taken, no matter how much pain its causing her. (“is he following?” the lyrics give me the sense that shes feeling claustrophobia?)

at 0:17 we have the lines “i bite the hand that feeds me”, which could be connected to what the demons are doing to her: biting the hands that feed them. the person we see is eating a heart, again, an amazing metaphor for ‘eating’ the most important part of you. (the demons are eating what makes her, herself)

then, her as shes a surprised, she cries out, as if shes only just realized what shes done. shes saying, “i slap at the face that eats me”, as in the demons who eat at her personality. unfortunately, the colors change, and they are are back, smiling all the while.

in the next shot, shes alone in what seems to be a bathroom. shes looking around, scared, again. i think shes scared of what shes doing to herself, but shes also simultaneously allowing her demons to wreck havoc in herself. “some kind of animal cannibal”: the cannibal are her demons - her demons are inside her, so that means shes eating at herself.

next, we see the girl about the bite at her own neck. weirdly, shes looking at the camera with an eerie happiness: shes fully accepted that this is harming her, but its so much easier not to care and tell herself its too late to come back,

the next shot is artistic i think, but maybe her on a plate is (yes, aGAIN) a metaphor for how shes eating at herself. thats literally what this is all about.

“you are what you eat”, is kind of ominous. are the demons now fully taking over her personality?

this shots my favorite: shes hiding her bloody, gray self with colorful smiles. there are two interpretations: 
1. that this is the bargain her inner demons offer: her true self will be eaten away painfully, but at least she LOOKS like shes doing much better.
2. OR how shes hiding what her demons are doing to her with color, but never actually doing anything to stop them.

0:37, shes crouching alone, in a dark space, eyes wide. this could be her true self, hiding away in the depths of her mind, terrified at whats happening - but then, the way she holds her heart is strangely giving me inner demon vibes again.

WE ARE REACHING THE END THANK YOU FOR BEARING WITH ME

theres an infinite hall of mirrors, with her reflections reaching out to infinity. maybe this is her confusion at not being able to recognize which one is her: shes so far in this that she cant figure out who she is?? the way she looks over her shoulder, away from the confusion just screams demons all over again.

OK, then, pictures connected be red string: the typical detective scene. i think the pictures represent all her problems - shes trying to figure out whats causing all of them. and then, the central picture is black, and reflects herself.

shes the cause of her own problems.

in the final shot, shes alone on her couch. the way her head lolls to the side and she stares blankly at us is the sad message that yes, shes been completely taken over. she is hollow inside because its all been eaten away.

The phrase “you are what you eat” used in this animatic is incredible, as it is basically saying that they are human, as they eat humans. Just the fact that it seems de-humanising, the prospect of eating the same species makes that saying even more amazing in this context. Great job! <3

This is maybe my favorite version of this meme I've ever seen. So many little things are so well done to make such a haunting and eerie atmosphere. I particularly love the one mirror scene at 0:39 and whatever is happening at 0:25 Just an amazing job, and the ending a a perfect scare to top it all off.

have you ever just seen a really great animation meme that the animator puts so much effort working on every detail and making it close to perfect then you get so amazed by it that you get really inspired to do/make something great for yourself or someone? yeah this is one of the few animation memes that does that to others who really appreciate it. and that includes me. truly a masterpiece. really hope this animation gets the amount of attention it TRULY deserves. if it doesn't, i would be very angry 💚

You've never failed to mezmerize me with how unique your art and the animation is. It's an incredible gift you have and I'm very lucky I get to see it. Your videos are always worth the wait! 😊

And I did not mean to discredit Crymelt and how much time and effort they've put into learning their craft. But it does take a very dedicated person with a clear vision to do what they do, and that can be very hard to come by. Obviously, animation, and even art in general, takes time to learn and it can be very challenging.

I think it's about someone having multiple personalities to the point where they don't know who they are anymore and want to "eat" their orignal self so they can finally know who they are and because in one scene it said "You are what you eat"

I love this style of horror. Random images clumped that seem unrelated and linked at the same time. It gives off unsettling and foreboding vibe and also adds a bit of mystery. Loving the arstyle!

Nice to see you back (and hopefully well) after a while. In my opinion, the ending is the scarist part of the Animation "meme" for another reason.

While anybody will think at first glance that the protagonist is simply starring into our souls, I dare to theorize that this could be a reference to the thousand yard stare.

For all who don't know, the thousand yard stare is a stare to describe the empty and unfocused stare of traumatized soldiers, mostly after combat. However, the term is also been used to generally describe the same stare of victims who went through a traumatic event and are not responding to anything happening arround them, because of the trauma.

With that, I think that the protagonist is having that thousand yard stare. This is also getting alluded by how she's sitting on that sofa, with her arms spread out and her having a position of "fatigue" and "tiredness". Her looking looking right into the fourth wall could simply be a coincidence, maybe intentionally hidding the real meaning. But who knows right ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Additonaly, the stare (if true) would also confirm my theory, that the topic of that "meme" is abuse in a toxic relationship. I'm not going to explain, why I think so, since I'm not really good at it. Moreover, someone will definitely come again like in your "two time" video and Analyse the living thing out of it. So, why not him doing the talking, while I simply name a potential little detail you put in the video, he can put in his analysis ;)

Again: I'm glad to see that you're back and the fact that there are so many ways to interpretate your animation memes is one of your biggest strengths 😊

your really talented, i think everything you make is cool and that what your doing is immersive, creative and beautiful. your online presence is somewhere in between the lines of apathy and innovation. your art is bursting with a colorful, emotional atmosphere and yet theres still an apathetic mood around it. your speedpaint a year ago was such a great thing to watch for me at the time and i noticed while you were drawing the girl's finger at first she was biting it and it was bleeding but you covered it up. that was such a personal touch to the video, and now this amazing project you made shows the same theme in a highly polished cinematic short and it just amazed me. i love what you make, thank you for making it :')
