The number of homicides in Houston this year are now the highest they have been in at least 15 years.

Houston has had an influx of people from all over the country. Correlation? Possibly. crime rose after hurricane katrina and after the housing crisis in california. Not to mention the tensions of job loss, stay at home orders and other factors caused by Covid. This has got to get better

There are a couple things leading to this.
1. Pandemic (people aren't working and its leading to madness)
2. Economics ( feeds off of one.)
3. Enough enough officers on the streets.
4. Violent Offenders being out on bond or bail.
5. Delinquency ( a lot of this is young guys between 12-25 with no guidance committing crimes and shooting people)

Im sure the victims feel good that overall though police-related shooting deaths are (probably?) down, bc as we all know that has been the most pressing issue to the exclusion of all others. Why not report their race, since that matters?
