Louisiana Congressman Mike Johnson Becomes New House Speaker

Louisiana Congressman Mike Johnson is the new speaker of the House. He's an evangelical Christian, a lawyer and a Trump supporter. Republicans settled on Johnson after huddling behind closed doors. They celebrated with a raucous press conference that saw North Carolina Congresswoman Virginia Foxx angrily turning on a reporter. The incident happened after ABC News congressional correspondent Rachel Scott asked Johnson about his role in seeking to overturn the 2020 election.

The fact that a sitting congresswoman, much less an elderly woman or really any grown adult, would find it okay to yell at a reporter or tell them to "shut up" for simply asking a legitimate question is disgraceful to the principles this country was founded on. I think all those people need to be booted from Congress ASAP. And to think that it's not the first time "conservatives" have acted so anti-American right to American's faces.
