I think you’re very smart ...so there’s no reason to use click bait or misleading titles & those fast talking plugs are annoying and distracting.

This does not seem to be possible- Robinhood won't exercise your option on your long call if you can't afford it. They sell the option on your behalf at 3pm. I simply don't understand how you can be slammed with owing a ton of money trading options on RH. RH holds collateral for the max loss for spreads when you open the order. They also deny naked option orders at the start if you don't have enough collateral. So, what gives? I can't find reliable information on this, and youtubers are putting out all these warning videos.

So you didn't hold through expiry. Robinhood closed them

You can get exercised all that ways down to 7pm EST. BTW, the frequent super fast intra-videos ads are annoying AF. Have your ads that the beginning and let it be.

A general rule that has served me well is sell puts only on stocks I would like to own. Of course it requires me to have money to cover the assignment.

For you to never hold an option through expiration you are missing out on opportunities, it's situational just like most things. Learn all the scenarios, and have your outcomes planned out before hand.

I just let 100 CALL option contract expire on Robinhood. Their value was $0.01
Nothing happened. Market closed, and 15 mins later the options just dissappeared. No extra fees. No forced exercise.
I hope this clears it up for some people.
I lost the money that I had spend on the options.

This is exactly WHY NOT to use Robinhood.

What happens if you’re in the money on a call option, you let robinhood exercise your shares, the only problems is you don’t have enough money for all them, so your account becomes negative, how long can you hold these shares with a negative balance?!? Could this be a benefit if the stocks keeps climbing, and would Robinhood allow you to still keep these shares until you decide to sell?

This is why I always close my positions before expiration.

Matt, I love your videos, but the "casino slot machine" music in the background is really distracting to me. Keep up the great vids, ( sans slot machine audio).

Suppose it's a good stock, I have the money and I want to keep the shares? Will they just deposit the shares to my account?

RH did not auto-exercise-- they closed your positions on your behalf.

hey i had a question. Robinhood sold my options (bull put spread on tesla) today at 3pm when tesla was dipping. It recovered at 4pm, which would have broke even for me. Instead RH sold my options at 3pm and i lost 3000 USD. Why did RH do this? They lost me 3k. It's so ridiculously unfair.

If i close this option while i am out of the money am i going to be responsible for someone who bought this call option? What happens to the option if i close it out of the money before the expiration day?
