I am dealing with a concrete filled steel tube subjected to blast load..

i need to find out the mid-height deflection of the tube.

For the above said problem, i have divided the full length(2.5m) of the tube into three parts so as to find the deflection in the middle part.

but i have been unable to establish the contact between the respective parts...

can u suggest me the appropriate keyword that is to be used for establishing the contact between the parts..(i.e, between steel and concrete and between air and steel)

Also please suggest if any other alternative/approach is available for this problem.
