Ah, got me right in the heart with the Swift rating. Though I’m biased bc learning Swift made me a much a better programmer: the lack of documentation, and out of date Stackoverflow responses forced me to figure things out on my own; Apple’s pressure on the importance of accessibility, security, and privacy implementation; the strictness forced good habits in memory safety. The Dev conferences don’t put me to sleep right away.

Also, 1st party library/framework support is pretty good. And even though SwiftUI is still a work in progress, it’s so fast and easy to use.

I hate how everyone keeps talking about programming languages, whereas the top thing you should worry about is design and engineering of a project...

Doesn't matter which language you use, if your project is insecure, inefficient, and coded with python, it will still be hacked and exploited

If you want to be an iOS developer or work with and Apple Internal APIs they are actually drowning out Python and opting only for Swift because it’s faster at automation

I think C++ is very nice to look at and with much of the improvements in the Standard, it's becoming easier to use. You don't need to use half as much third-party crap as you did in the past.

Things like Boost etc. are more or less banished because it's in the standard library now.
