Touristy Urban Island Fishing Experience - Nassau Bahamas

Hey so I hope you enjoyed this little video fishing Nassau Bahamas. I really just winged it going in with very little knowledge. Therefore, I'm just glad I didn't get skunked! I cruised to the island out of Charleston with my family on the Carnival Cruise and we had fun but to be honest will probably never cruise this line again. Food and drink quality was lacking, service was poor, and for the size of the ship it seemed way over capacity with way to many children.

Hey FishAholic’s, long time no see. Hope you all had a Merry Christmas or a Happy Holiday’s and are ready to ring in the New Year. Crazy it’s going to be 2020 😵!! Hope you enjoy this video it was fun to Fish a new area and make the most of what I could. I cruised On Carnival with my family to Nassau and i must say we all were pretty disappointed. Food and drinks were poor, ship seemed over capacity, nail clippings on room floor, cabin ceiling light cover falling off, and a lot of children. Let me know your thoughts if you’ve had similar experiences... Was really pleased with Royal Caribbean last time I cruised. Also i caught the Flu after disembarking so that was a bummer lol 😷 Anyway Live to Fish, Fish to Live!!

I stayed at a Sandals place in Nassau. It was all inclusive and I don't drink what they stocked in the fridge, so I would collect it and trade it to the guys renting jetskis for time on the water. I'd give them bottles of chamagne and cans of local beer and they would let me sit backwards on the jetski and would troll me up and down the coast. Caught a bucnch of Jacks and cudas. Soon as I hooked up the guys would zip back to the beach and throw it on the grill where they were all hanging out but would kick me off and pick me back up if a customer wanted to rent the jetski. Made some good buddies! Ps, the yozuri crystal minnow was the ticket.

Caught a 80 lb grouper there about 7 years ago at the cruise ship terminal. I used a live small grunt for bait...clipped his tail before putting it on a circle hook. Happy New!

Always be on the lookout for the famous square grouper in these waters. Notify me immediately if you catch any.

Hey hopefully you know this by now but the reason you constantly saw those barracudas are because your lure is shiny. As natives we don't use lures tbh we use conch/ shrimp/ squid/ crab, and they work great. However if you want really big catches then Nassau isnt the place, try one of the surrounding islands they're way more quieter...

Hey bud... Just simple but effective advice... If the heavy tackle don't deliver, switch over to ultra light tackle, it's always the better bet in such cases... Most onshore tropical game fish prefer the smaller baits simply coz that's what's usually in and around their habitat...

Bummer about the ship but im sure you enjoyed travelling with your family for the holidays. I travel alot for work and always bring a 3 piece and tackle. Had some intense experiences on the bridges in the keys! Go there next!! Lol

Cruise ships suck! It is better to fly direct and find a place to sleep online. However, I do appreciate you showing what is there and the fishing experience. Makes me want to go somewhere in the area and hang out. ciao!

I was on that same cruise! Carnival Sunshine. Saw you a few times around the ship and told my wife like 10times “I swear I know that guy from somewhere!” Lmao watching this video and it clicked! Small world. I thought of ways to fish while I was there but never did. Pretty cool you did and actually caught a few cudas!

Had some small cuda and grunts on back side of Atlantis on the fly. Out front some small grouper. All on gotcha patterns two years ago. Enjoy.
