The Great Ball Review 2013 - Unisport WebTV

Joltter has been busy testing out official match balls, and today he will provide the world with his opinions about five different balls from five different brands.

Nike Incyte, Adidas Finale 13, Select Brillant Super, Mitre Delta V12 and Puma PowerCat 1.12 Statement. Great brands with great products, but the question remains; which one of the balls will impress our Finnish ball-guru the most? Find that out by watching our Great Ball Review of 2013.

It really pings off your boot and you know that it will go where you intend for it to go as soon as it leaves your foot. Very satisfying ball. I only use premium match balls for training and most of my keepers prefer the select balls the best.

It is also the best to juggle with because the casing feels tacky even though there are no dimples on it. I'm a goalkeeper coach and love using this ball for training. Off the volley it flys and goes exactly where you want it to go. This is why I would say that this is the best ball for consistency and over all value.The sweetspot when striking this ball also seems to be a bit bigger than the other 2 imo and if you are spraying the ball across the field this thing feels awesome.

Also Select became the main sponsor of the NAIA this year so they have produced a ball called the Super Elite which is basically the brilliant super with different graphics. I haven't been able to tell a difference. Personally for the value and the 3 year warranty I would go with Select but it depends what you are looking for in a match ball. They all offer something special and whatever you get, you'll have a quality product.

I have all 3 so hope this helps. All of them are comparable in terms of air retention and water uptake. If I had to pick 1 to have a slight edge it would be select.

The SBS is amazing. Very solid ball and it does exactly what you want it to do. It has the perfect weight and the thicker padding is perfect. It is not overly padded like some other balls. You can pump it up hard as a rock and it will still have a solid feel without breaking your foot.

I really enjoy using the Warrior Skreamer Pro match ball, its a good weight, flies nicely and has a lovely feel to it. Having said that, nothing beats the World Cup 2006 Teamgeist from Adidas, such a novelty at the time and still a quality ball, if perhaps a tad heavy compared to newer balls, still my favourite!
