Portland teachers and families rallied at the Portland Association of Teachers office Saturday to pressure the district to meet their demands before Nov 1.

you know why we don't have the funding for our educators? because we must build army bases overseas that are much more updated than classrooms, that have spas, grocery stores, and gyms that offer everything at a crazy discount, because this system has decided that investment in weapons and military forces outweighs everything. No one in power cares about language, philosophy, or art, because those things can't annihilate any cities within seconds. But science and math we do care! only when they can serve as tools for developing weapons.

The UAW just secured great new contracts with Stellantis and Ford after weeks of striking. GM will soon follow. Unions get results and striking works.
