My hack is to find something interesting enough to listen to, but not too interesting to keep me up, but not so boring I get bored. And then I lie there with my eyes closed and just listen. The trick is finding videos that don’t require me to look at them.

I have to blackout my room but have like rain sounds or a podcast to fall.asleep to lol, otherwise i will do the doom scroll until stupid o clock in the morning lol

My husband is NT and he needs all light off to sleep. So I used to just stare at a dark ceiling and driving myself insane. What really works for me lately, I’ve find, is reading on the e-reader I got for Sinterklaas. I’ve got the light setting on only 3 or 4% and I just read till my eyes are tired. Plus reading means my mind doesn’t have time to spiral 🙃

My life!!
Getting a lot worse since I lost my job.. having ‘nothing to get up for’ is a bloody nightmare for my reluctance to going to bed at a sane hour and has e acerbated my now serious addiction to doom scrolling.
It isn’t amusing, it is ruining my life and mental health has nose dived as a result of sleep depravation and the accompanying barrage of abuse from my inner critic (I’ve had 40 years of that voice in my head running me down like a drill sergeant Always starts: “What is WRONG with you???🤬”

That's me completely, start somewhere like sharks, then Mike Tyson fight, then Aliens going through a portal in Antarctica. All of a sudden birds chirping, its light outside.

Ugh yes! At night I’ve tried to get into the habit of putting an audio book on in my earbuds. Interesting enough to listen to but boring enough to fall asleep to. Turns out I actually am tired lol
