I dont agree with total gentle parenting, but i also dont agree with this type of parenting.

You need to have a balance of reasonable disablin and positive reinforcement.

That sounds like the most normal thing to me 😂

What's the lesson? Abandonment? That's not ok to do. That baby is gonna be so traumatized 😢😡

I once saw a father who carried 4 Vodka bottles tell His daughter that the big vanilla ice cream Container was to expensive (3, 99€ and 500g) and that she should grab the smaller one that wasn't even half the size (2, 50€ and around 170g)
She did so without complaining and as they went paying He didn't Had enough for everything but instead of puting one bottle away he put the ice cream and milk away where the daughter even ask what she will have for brakefast tomorrow If He puts the Milk away
I ended up giving her the big vanilla ice cream box and milk in the parking lot aswell as the local cps number
She is with her grandparents now

My Mum did this twice, once in a Coles when I was 7, because I got distracted and lost her (she was aware she left without me and did it intentionally, throwing a hissy fit when they announced they found a child over speakers) and once when she forced me to parkrun when I was 15, telling me I have to get a time less than 30 minutes (for 5km) or she will leave without me and I can walk the 10km uphill home . I got 30m and 15 seconds and when I was walking to the car she drove off leaving me there. I then called my dad to pick me up and my mum was pissed for “undermining her”

One....that parent is probably gonna ask in the future why their kid doesn't visit them or ask why their kid is overly attatched to the point where the parent wishes they had space.

Two....one day, if she keeps doing that, some guy is gonna kidnap that child or something is gonna happen to that child that is gonna make her regret doing that. One day, she might leave her kid, come back with a starbucks but be unable to find her kid.

CPS, she didn’t know who was in that store, someone could have taken her kid, that’s child endangerment and neglect

my parents used to bo smth similar to me and I wasn't a spoiled kid by any means.
I didn't realize it back then, but it's a f-ed up thing to do to a child.

Idk. If you do, it right. It's not bad parenting. Some little kids don't listen for shit and sometimes you need to do stuff like this to get them to listen. However, her actual leaving was dangerous. When my mom does this, she doesn't leave. She's always nearby. I dont know how to feel about this story.
