Bangladesh Fierce Protests By Students Over Job Quota, 12 Killed In Clashes With Police | World News

Bangladesh is seeing fierce protests by students against the introduction of quotas for kin of war heroes in government jobs, At least twelve people have been killed in the protests this week. While Sheikh Hasina's government scrapped reservations in 2018, a court has now reinstated the quotas for families of those who fought in the 1971 Liberation War. We spoke to Michael Kugelman, Senior Associate, South Asia Woodrow Wilson Center In Washington DC to understand the impact of the reservation.
