Even some professional woodworkers make that mistake...
Never apply stain with a brush.
Put on some disposable gloves, grab a cloth, and rub the stain in.

I like to think that Matt has a house that is an illusion of being an antique, wooden store but in reality every last inch of appliances (fridge, microwave, oven, toaster), chairs, couch, tables, floors, and walls is a fully capable and highly functional super computer.

Next time instead of painting the frame you can burn the surface with torch. The effect is very cool, only the wood gain will pop out from the ash forming. Try it.

Good deal not only is it creative and a hallmark to technology of our past, but also a security feature. If someone were to break in and rob your house, no one will steal your graphics card.

When applying stain use a white rag to apply it and then use another white rag to clean it up a bit. With this method u should get a even application of stain

I've done a similar thing on my channel, love these kind of builds, it's much harder when your using something not designed for PC components

Been looking forward to another sleeper! Great Job.
If you’re going to stain the wood, sand it down till smooth and get a cloth. Put the wood varnish onto the cloth and rub it on with the grain. I hope this helps.

You may be able to restore the Plastic over the Clock with some Vinegar mixed with Dish Soap & Warm Water. Let it soak for a while & use something soft to scrub it.

Awesome sleeper mod Matt 🥰🥳👍🎉🤯. Love to see the final build with the back completed. From personal experience and also As mentioned below, using a rag or sponge when applying stains will give a more even result and a very fine grit sandpaper use between coats will give an awesome result. Also in some cases diluting the stain (depending if it’s water or turps based and using the appropriate diluter) can give a softer result with the stain.

You couldve used finish nails where the screws were, they r thin enough to pass the screw.

I'd like to see a FurMark+Aida95 stress test, and I'd _love_ to see how you cool it properly to be able to withstand that
