Im not entirely sure Russia is trying all that hard for territory, my impression is conserving lives of soldiers and waiting for Ukraine to make mistakes. Russia doesnt really need territory, they need Ukraine army destroyed, so I dont think they want to risk lives over a secondary objective

It is hard for us in the west that is pro Russian to not want them to use Blitzkrieg like tactics as that is what our army is based and built upon and thankfully they are not as we know how to defend against that tactic we use ourselves so well. This leads to foolish NATO and USA generals with more worries like transgendered quotas and their next sensitivity training session to see it as some Russian doctrinal weakness, which it is not. Russia inherited an army mostly for slow deep doctrine and slower tactics as they are dealing with such a huge front and this is why I think it has led them to make a critical mistake in viewing Russia's so called limited success when it is anything but. The Russians are advancing at their own doctrinal pace and doing what they are best at, meat grinding the enemy army into pulp and(as someone from the USA that hates this war the corrupt Ukrainians started and soon Ukraine will have no trained men to run that fancy material we are sending them. At the end when I am right I bet every NATO bootlicking propaganda smoker that you will never show your faces again saying Russia is losing whereas if I am wrong I will come here and eat crow and admit I was wrong. Any takers for my offer?? I bet not lol!

Reducing a built-up area to piles of rubble does not turn it into open country nor does it mean it becomes undefendable. Sometimes the reverse happens. The Allies discovered that at Monte Cassino - admittedly it was pretty high above the surrounding country. I don't know if Marinka hold a commanding view.

This makes sense, the last thing you want to do is increase the length of your front line, Russia will be looking to reduce the length of their front line moving forward by straightening it as much as they can.

thanks for the footage of marinka, i would say though marinka still isnt a open field all those ruined buildings have sharp pointy bits like reinforcing steel rods, bricks, roofing tin ext that stop bullets a lot better than a forrest line. marinka is more like a hilly glen with lots of rocks which is very hard to attack through against even a light defence as english found out for 100 yrs against scotts
