I always felt so bad for Electro in this movie. He was literally just a poor neglected man who got electrocuted so badly that he turned into pure energy. And none of if was his fault. He seems genuinely afraid in this scene, and it makes me think of what it would be like to be in his shoes. He genuinely didn't mean harm, but all his pent up rage manifested in the worst way possible. Jamie Foxx did an amazing job portraying this character.

Honestly, all the fools yelling and taunting the lightning villain were kind of asking for what they got. Not EXACTLY like poking an angry bear with a stick, but pretty damn close.

I don’t understand why this is never a contender in everyone’s “best Spider-Man scenes” list. Everything from the music to the dialogue to the character exploration to the sheer amount of problem-solving on Spider-Man’s end… it’s so true to everything that makes Spider-Man work on the big screen.
This movie spells out Electro’s mental/social conditions and psyche in so many scenes yet he’s somehow considered to be one of the weaker parts of the movie. This is even the first scene where he uses his “cool voice” to fuel a power fantasy of his own. The “cool voice” being the cold and deep voice he previously gave to Spider-Man in his own head when he acted out fantasies of being acknowledged and told he was special.
We see a powerless-scared victim of his environment tear down all of his wants, influences and aspirations in an anger-fueled fight for significance, and this directly parallels Spider-Man’s struggle with his own power, significance, and influence on others…
This series ended far too soon.
