Neck pillow review: Which one is best for travel?

Показать описание
The neck pillow is not the travel world’s most popular piece of gear. Some people swear by them to help make the best out of a bad sleep situation; most think they’re useless but schlep them around airports anyway. But this accessory has come a long way since the most infamous inflatable options hit the market. Today, online retailers have pages and pages of options so you can buy one well before your flight. But which models are worth your time and money? We tested three, plus a bonus, to guide you through your travel-neck-pillow shopping process. The contenders include the Easy Breather by Nest Bedding ($59.99), the Cabeau Evolution Classic ($29.99), the Trtl ($29.99) and a cervical collar, or neck brace (between $10-$20 at most drugstores). See which pillow — or medical device — is most popular in our video.

We can go to the moon, but we can't design a travel pillow that actually works, smh.

This is not a valid review, they don't really test it, just people figuring out how to use it. thanks for wasting 5 mins

This is exactly how I feel. I am hesitant to even buy anything because everyone either hates the one they are reviewing or it's the best thing ever.

I use Trtl. Worked okay on 16hr flight from NYC.

Personally my favorite is Bcozzy because it supports the chin rather than the back of your head. Economy seats rarely recline enough to shift your weight to the back of the head so you put a lot of stress in your chin and neck. Thats why I think so many travel pillows really miss that, especially for 8 hour plus flights.

Uhhhh....these were not tested. Sitting in a stool for a few minutes does not match the actual conditions of sleeping on a plane. Also, they were not given directions for how to put on the trtl pillow...

I had an emergency spinal fusion in my neck a couple of years ago (I was almost paralyzed). I usually bring my cervical collar on planes with me. I know it probably looks ridiculous but the seats on planes are shaped like a c rather than an s (like the spine), this causes me to have to use my neck muscles for an extended period of time. There is no off button for my neck muscles, they are either completely relaxed or tense. Then comes the jaw tension, followed by the tension headache. I have to take Dramamine because I get plane sick, so I usually get sleepy, but I can’t sleep because my upper body muscles are over reacting. I don’t like neck pillows because you have to bend your neck to get the support and that is uncomfortable for me. I’ve never had someone give me a hard time for reclining, but if that ever happens I will show them the MRI of my disc that had exploded into my spinal cord.

Why are opinions suddenly prefaced by “I feel like”?

There is a stand alone option with superior design, that won't make you look silly, or constrict movement in any way. The Add-a-Rest is a daily use posture support that can go with you wherever your travels take you. Daily use in your vehicle, go right from the car to the plane. Never forget your comfort again!

You guys need to do a long haul flight test, not test them for 2 minutes... fail!
