My father-in-law shared a funny story where a few years ago he had a newly qualified mechanic working on his car which has a carby. He asked the mechanic to increase the idle speed... and the mechanic shrugged as he does not know how to do this. I guess he is trained on all the modern engines but not on the fundamental designs of a classic engine.

I installed a tune on my 2007 5.7L Toyota engine at 281, 000 miles, it runs smoother, makes more HP & TQ and the transmission shifts more precisely without hunting for gears. This was my first experience with tuning a computerized vehicle, and IMHO it was money well spent.
