NASA Researchers Just Discovered The Largest Planet In The Universe!
This large planet lies in an environment that was previously thought to be too hostile for a planet to develop, around a massive pair of extremely hot stars.
According to the European Southern Observatory, which captured images of the planet from its Very Large Telescope in the Chilean desert, no planets had previously been discovered around a star that was more than three times as big as the Sun until b Centauri b.
As one of the most massive planets ever found, the b Centauri b is an exoplanet that exists outside of our solar system, and is ten times as massive as Jupiter.

Drop a pea from a airplane at 38, 000 feet doing 500 mph over the Sahara Desert during a sand storm and you would still have better odds finding that pea again than you would finding the largest planet in the universe.

Temperatures in Fahrenheit?? What about celcius that most of us on this planet use!

How can this be the largest planet in the Universe if we don’t really know just how large the Universe is?

Biggest planet in the Universe? Wrong. Biggest planet ever discovered? More correct.

And there's a limit on how massive a planet can be, because any higher means nuclear fusion started and becomes a star. These planets are called brown dwarfs, or "failed stars". But again, this is all just a theory.

This is why I’m studying to become an astrophysicist. I’m so intrigued by how the planets 🪐 and the universe works!

Never thought i would see the day we discover a planet that makes earth seem like a small asteroid

Can you imagine a planetary body 10 times the size of Jupiter floating loosely outside the gravitational pull of our sun and how easily it would be knocked off its course changing our solar systems balance.
Scary how quickly things could be unraveled

Uhm, ... 'Dwarves our closest neighbour'? That's Venus, followed by Mars, and Earth already is bigger than both.
If you'd said 'our local giant' or maybe 'our favourite goalie' that would've made sense.

I think it is pretty obvious that there must be life on other planets by now, only a matter of time until it is a proven fact and that day will be such a monumental shift in human perception but I'm guessing I won't be around to find out, oh well.
If we do make it that far and in some crazy way my words here make it too then I hope we don't do the wrong thing and exploit and destroy what we find, cherish the discovery knowing finally we are not alone.

🔭The universe is endless! 👨‍🚀

The hard thing to wrap your head around is what endless actually means. What’s even more perplexing is does the multiverse actually exist?

When I think of the vastness of space, I get this feeling that can't be induced by thinking about anything else.

Funny how we think we've discovered the largest planet in an infinite universe.

Stop crying about the title. And just admire the discovery

The largest planet in the universe. Huh.
Now that we've observed every planet in the observable universe and beyond, what's next?

The claim of largest planet in the universe can only be determined if we know every planet in the universe. So have we studied the entire universe yet ? No we have not.

It's not the largest planet it's just the largest planet that we know of let's correct that title please. because we're very limited in what we can see

If there are planets forming 9.2 Billion miles away from their suns out there, whats there to say there aren't planets forming 9.2 billion miles away from our sun? way past the ort cloud?

I wish the exoplanet researchers will announce the discovery of a very Earthlike planet orbiting 93 million miles distance around a yellow main sequence star much like our own sun some day soon.
