How to flash TWRP and Root the OnePlus 8T (Android 11)

This video will help you flash the Alpha TWRP on your OnePlus 8T and root your device with magisk without the hassle of manually patching the boot image using fastboot. As of now this TWRP does not support flashing OxygenOS based roms. But in future it might be supported, check the twrp thread to know about the bugs.

Common Problems and Fixes
1. While flashing twrp, if you get an error saying can't load 'twrp.img' file not found, don't panic it's because the twrp file didn't get renamed correctly. I have provided a link with fix in the description.

Follow the steps in link number 4) and enable show file extensions. After enabling, rename your twrp file again. It was probably renamed as 'twrp.img.img' change it to just 'twrp.img' and then normally follow the flashing instructions and it will work.

I have also mentioned some fix videos in description if your device doesn't get detected in fastboot mode or if you get an error saying too many links. Check link number 5) and 6) for this.

This is a great guide and I can confirm it still works as of Jan 23rd 2022. I made a backup of nonroot partitions before flashing magisk though.

After installing TWRP on stock OS, tried flashing Magisk zip. Everything is okay on TWRP, but the app was not installed on the system. Any ideas why that is?
