This video introduces and explains gravitational potential energy for A Level Physics.

The gravitational potential energy of an object is the energy of that object due to it being raised in a gravitational field. Gravitational potential energy is proportional to mass, gravitational field strength and height. Therefore the equation for gravitational potential energy is: GPE = mgh. We can derive the equation for gravitational potential energy as shown in this video.
