Enjoy your Channel Micah but as an arborist, trimming fruit trees in the dead of winter is the most ideal time when they will begin to begin the healing process. Trimming in the spring time when sap is wanting to kick buds into leaves, that energy is prime for the buds. Trimming in spring and they bleed from every wound, where you removed one leader, they’ll sucker up and you’ll next year have multiple leaders (water sprouts) you’ll know what I mean after this years growth and see how many suckers you’ll have in your spring trimmed trees. Keep up the good work

I have a few cherry trees up here. Im going to prune them a little more this spring as i haven't ever cut them back enough. It snowed here yesterday as well. Wish it would melt and dry up. Calves are coming! Thanks for sharing Brother. Take care

The last hard freeze took most of my peaches that budded early. I wish you the best on your homestead this year.
