2:50 this is such a perfect moment from both Xolo Mariduena and Tanner Buchanan. Each character finally understands the other's position. Miguel understands how anger can drive you past that limit of balance/self control and Robby understands how much fear and desperation Miguel felt before that moment he went over the balcony. and you can see that in their faces. notice that little whimper right after Miguel relents. I think he felt both fear that he got to that level of anger, and pity/sadness/empathy that Robby ever felt that way, and possibly also shame for almost doing the same thing to Robby that was done to him. "I didn't get into karate to hurt people, " is an indication of that. One of my favorite scenes from the entire series.

They're on a fairly even keel, but Miguel is a little more centered than Robby. He's taken Johnny's actual lessons about the fine line between "no mercy" and "no honor" to heart. They both fight with tremendous spirt, but you can see how well controlled Miguel is. In the end, Robby pushes him right up to that line, but Miguel doesn't cross it. "I didn't get into Karate to hurt people", might be one of the most critical lines spoken by Miguel. He's perhaps show the most growth of all of the characters. He's awesome!

Idk why but when Miguel first gets ready with his stance, it gets me hype every time.

Has anyone noticed how Robby's main strength is floor work, and Hawk's tends to be aerial combat? Hawk likes high kicks because they fit the aesthetic, and Robby's skateboarding makes him have brilliant balance. Tying the character's fighting styles to their personalities and habits really works, like Johnny's fighting is never as good as when he's mixing karate and brawling (last fight at Silver's), or how Demitri fights well using the environment because of his observational skills and spatial awareness (trophy case, glass table, the table in Silver's office). Tory's ferocious, Miguel's ambidextrous, Sam's technically skilled, Kenny's fast and brutal, they all have fighting styles reflective of who they are. It's brilliant.
