You're probably wondering, "What on Earth are these?" They look like aliens floating around the sea, straight out of a science fiction movie. This is a sperm whale. Adult sperm whales weigh up to 45 tons, and this is how they sleep. In 2008, a team of scientists from Scotland and Japan bumped into a group of sperm whales in the Caribbean, drifting vertically close to the surface of the water. By observing the whales, the researchers found that they are sleeping. They have the shortest sleep cycle out of any mammal on Earth, power napping for about 10 to 15 minutes each time. Sperm whales have to hunt very often; they consume about 2,000 pounds of food every day, such as squid, octopus, and fish. Researchers found out the reason why they sleep vertically: it allows them to float near the surface of the water, stay alert to potential predators, and control their breathing. Scientists believe they sleep with one eye open and one half of their brain awake, half awake but sleeping.

Apparently AI hasn’t figured out whales don’t breathe underwater.

Some narcoleptic and also some insomniac human beings do that too. Just a little section or a portion or a hemisphere shuts down at a time, so randomly the part that shuts down suddenly fails to enervate a body part, perhaps a limb.

So out of the blue, suddenly I had won’t work, or a leg gives out, and stays that way for a little while.

Just to let section of brain wakes up again.

Sometimes those people get diagnosed with epilepsy, with absence seizures as well.
