I think some of us who are looking for that free custom domain are looking for alternatives to zoho as well. People will be moving away from zoho because they are killing off cold emailing just like gmail is. I’m not cold emailing at the moment but would like to have that option moving forward.

You can have an fairly secure email. If it would have an setting to encrypt the text and you get another email with the code yo decrypt on the receiver end. Like Outlook it has. Nobody can read the message unless it is decrypted. That way you have good enough security.

Tbh, if you want absolute privacy, you shouldn't be using e-mail. If you are looking for general privacy, either work fine.

I would totally like Proton mail if the free version had 2 things from the low tier paid version and that's the custom domain and the desktop client support.

As it is now the free version offers way more then I would need as a personal Email client for what it dose offer; so I can't see myself paying just to get those 2 things and more of what I said was already enough from the free version.

So for me I don't need the Proton calendar, drive, VPN or pass. So in short. If they had the Proton mail free version and just that without the other 4 things previously mentioned and the 2 things I do need from the paid version the custom domain and the desktop support all while still being free, that for me at least would be a no brainier to use them.

But right now I'm torn cause the free version is offering more then I need and paying to get more of what I don't need to get 2 things that I do need really doesn't sit well with me. So I guess I'll hold out for awhile to see what might be out there.

Great video and keep up the good work. 🙂👍

Tuta is the best, encrypt evryfing, proton it does not encrypt the message subject and metadata, only the email content, so in terms of privacy it is worse than tuta. And tuta it is cheaper.

Have you tried Tuta (formerly known as Tutanota)?

"As soon as a crime is committed" doesn't mean the accused was actually responsible for the crime.
Guilty until proven innocent I guess.

Andy Yen is a money hungry bozo. You will get spammed with stupid discount ads even if you're a member. Proton how about you stop spamming your members within the app with silly discount ads. Good products don't need to be spammed they grow by word of mouth and we have had enough....
