MacOS has SO many apps available - both from the App Store and independent sources. Here are 5 FREE Mac utilities that I love and can't believe they're actually free Mac apps. These are Mac apps that their developers seriously could charge for, but for whatever reason they've decided to make these Mac utilities available at no charge - which is awesome!

The toggle provided by Nightowl is already natively implemented in the Control Centre of MacOS. The theme can't be changed with a single click like Nightowl (3 clicks are needed 😃). The toggle can be found by clicking on the Display field in the Control Center (similar to the iPhone or iPad). However, as far as I know, there is no way to set the theme for individual applications in one place, as in Nightowl.

I prefer keka over unarchiver because it is easier to do bulk and part combine unzipping.

Seems NightOwl no longer works fully on Ventura. It shows Mail and Safari as "unsupported", so if you want those to be light, as I do, then you have to keep the system in light mode, which means NightOwl does not work at all for selecting light or dark mode for individual apps. Do you have a workaround for this? The similar app, Gray, has the very same issue.

One area Apple has been dragging its' heels on is a fully functional clipboard manager. Those available for macos don't work properly; Jumpcut for instance doesn't start up at login even though I have the startup at login box checked. Copy/Paste is not much better. For ios one app that works reasonably well is Copy Better (free). You just have to remember to add a clip in the app before you copy and paste it. Come on Apple a clipboard manager for both macos and ios should be a basic built into the OS.
