Aung San Suu Kyi denies genocide charges against Myanmar

Aung San Suu Kyi has dismissed allegations of state violence against Rohingya Muslims at The Hague. Speaking on the second day of hearings at the International Court of Justice in the genocide case against Myanmar, the country's de facto prime minister denied there had been genocidal intent in her government's treatment of the Rohingya and blamed the conflict on an uprising by separatist insurgents

It is a bit of a shock, especially on the left, to discover that Aung San is not a saint as she was presented, but a ruthless politician opposing the military from one position in house arrest and then accommodating their extreme actions and right wing populist led genocide in her present position, which would appear to maintain her in power.

Such a shame all these peoples are clouded by the media. The rohinga peoples are stateless yet they armed themselves in the foreign ground to wage a war. Myanmar has all the rights to defends their CITIZENS from these terrors. That does not mean it justify the horrible human right violations, but it is an internal matter that the court of Myanmar will continue and has taken care of.
It is a real privilege that you folks are not facing this in your country but if you just take a time to put yourself in our shoes, I believe you will understand a thing or two.
