First of all, this new Burma is making it more difficult to spell the name of their country with too many letters. The solution is to resort to copying and pasting "Myanmar". "But Ms. Aung San Suu Kyi, the onetime opposition leader who is now the de facto civilian leader of Myanmar, gave a spirited defense of the very same military brass who for years locked her up under house arrest", according to Simon and Beech of the New York Times. She is actually fearful of her government and the international community does not see that. If she does not represent her community to Burma's satisfaction, she faces the same destruction for herself and her families.
