All these homes with thousands of gallons of water sitting in their pools wasted. If they drop a pump into pool you could have saved your home. Fire prevention. Own a pool. Should be mandatory to have a 2" sump pump installed. Either run on electricity or a gas generator. Simply for this reason. I bet everyone with a pool would had watered down their yard and house so many homes be saved.

they had to make a 10 meter wide path with a buildozer to cut the fire path, this is usually done in Indonesia when burning plantation land so that it doesn't spread to other gardens.

How does the fire move in the complete opposite direction of the wind? Fire wall blazes left over a very large area while the intense winds are blowing to the right? I'm no science major but doesn't the wind direction determine how to fire moves?

Why don't they put sprinkler on houses when a fire is detected to lower the chance on spread. Sprinkler in the house and out!!!
