The mad mouse was the first roller coaster I ever went on. I was scared stiff and the big kids told me it was mild. When I got off, I was so excited that I overcame my fear. I never forgot my first roller coaster

They should built a new wild mouse like this.

I spent the summer of 1965 as the lead operator on a Herschel Mad Mouse just like this at Fair Park in Nashville, TN. That was the first year for the ride there. That was also the year they built the Skyliner, a Philadelphia Toboggan wooden coaster across the street. It was owned independently by one of the brothers that co-owned the rest of Fair Park. The Mouse was bought used from a recently closed park somewhere in upstate New York, Freedomland if memory serves correctly.

Nice trip down memory lane. Road one of these as a kid. Turns at the top have crazy laterals and those last two dips were intense. At least they were when I was a kid. Lol.

Wild Mouse Coaster 1 looks too intense for me!

Damn this brings back memories! This exact same version of Mad Mouse is what we had over at the Philippines when I was a kid.

The best and most terrifying parts were the sharp turns as soon as you reach the top. They would happen in such a way you would think you'd drive off the track, just before the car makes a sharp banking turn. Exhilarating! 👌💯

You don’t sit in a seat. You sit on the floor of the little cart. It reminds me of making rollercoasters in Minecraft! 😆🤣

Rode this when it was originally in Indiana at Enchanted Forest. Damn the memories.

I swear I've ridden one of these or something like it. Back at my county fair in 2003-2004, it was raining and we were walking out, but I saw a wild mouse kiddie ride with no line and begged my mom to let me ride it before we left. Same rickety-looking white track, but a more schiff-style layout and honestly, less stable than this. At 10 years old I could barely fit into the tiny pink sled- but it still went up high, and there were pastel pink flags at the top of the lift hill. I remember this part vividly- just before the final drop, it actually ran out of momentum, and stalled. I actually had to lean forward to get it to start moving down the final hill back to the station. I'll never forget that death trap and I've been trying to find it to add it to my credits ever since. This thing is the closest I've ever seen to that wild mouse.

Wonder if it's the same one I rode when I was three and lived in Burlington Wisconsin, be 1961

They have one of these at the Melbourne Show. It's the most white-knuckle ride I've ever been on.
