I hope a federal investigation is launched and legal action is taken. I work for an aged care home and reported abuse from a co-worker to a resident. My manager ended up protecting the staff member and even gave them a first place raffle ticket prize that week. Numerous staff raised concerns about the safety and well-being of the residents from that one worker being rough, rude and mean to the residents and no action was taken to protect them, only protected the staff member. We were made to feel ostracised for speaking up instead of being thanked for being brave and mandatorily reporting witnessed abuse. This made me realise company managers, head office staff, “CEO’s” they only care about getting their pay cheque at the end of the week, everything else gets swept under the rug. And they will lie to protect the company first. 😢
