That seller was full of sh*t. He knew you were already sold on it before you arrived 😂

What I’ve learned over the years - every chebby V8 is a corvette engine. Doesn’t matter what size or if it wasn’t ever offered in a corvette, it’s a corvette engine.

Yer de-badging tape on yer jacket got yanked off because of the immense acceleration of that beast.

Supercharger my friend, supercharger. Give pro charger or torque storm a call. Using a one speed, you’ll want the power to follow the rpm’s not lag.

a turbo setup on that bike would be courting the grim reaper.

My grandmother rode V8 motorcycles when she was a jellybean.

Get a v16 like a real man.

That’s an old L98. Not an LT1. Max HP is around 285 ish give or take. Also, the fastest it’ll do the 1/4 mile will be about 11.5-10.80

Ever notice how all vehicles with a HO V8 are "Corvette " motors?

You know that bike owner is spending the $7, 500 on more crinkly water bottles.

I love your GEICO bike poster! At first glance I was hoping to see Paul Senior in it.

Just do some decent aluminum heads and a cam, and dial in that timing the right way. You'll pick up more power than you can actually put to the ground, and it won't take up any extra room or add any weight.

Jason probably bought that bike with a blown motor, paid $1, 000. went to the junk yard, found the cheapest v8 (gmc) motor and paid someone at the junk yard to put it in for $500. the rest is a bunch of stories.

As soon as you mentioned Paul at the end, I knew instantly what the chair was for 😂 Can't wait for the build off, it should be a piece of cake for you Sean.

So the lt1 or lt-1 moniker has been used 3 times. In 1970 the 350 in the split bumper z28 Camaro had double hump heads, a new camshaft and a winters cast aluminum dual plane intake. You have center bolt valve covers so it's not that. In 1994-1996 there was a "gen 2" 350 called an lt1 (I forget which is lt1 and which is lt-1 so they will be used interchangeably) and what makes it gen 2 is a camshaft driven water pump and a front mount distributor in front of the water pump. It's port fuel injected with a front mounted throttle body. You definitely don't have one of these. But with a good exhaust and open air cleaner they are about 345hp and would also have a serpentine belt system unique to the lt1 because it doesn't turn the water pump. The heads and block are unique as there is an extra water channel in the block that sends the water up to the heads before the cylinders. You probably have a truck engine or perhaps if it actually has more than 250hp a zz3 or zz4 crate engine. The 3rd lt1 would be the modern c8 Corvette engine with direct injection, otherwise similar to an LS style engine and shares basically no parts with the previous iterations..

The oil leak is probably coming from the valve covers or perhaps the "China walls" where the intake meets the engine block. The factory would put rubber or cork here. The rubber could swell and the cork can dry out and harden. Most racecar guys will used a toughened silicone such as ultra black or "the right stuff" or a modern OEM style gasketless sealant. You could also use window weld urethane but you're going to have a hard time taking it off later. You just build up a thick bead. You can have a .200" gap here to fill, don't be shy.

Most of these engines won't make a lot of top end power till you change the cam and valve springs and if you have positive valve seals you might need high clearance retainers and valves without the extra seal grooves. But even with a decent cam you might not make much power over 5500-6000 with stock heads. A single plane intake might help for 6000-7000 rpm but can lose torque and won't help as much as a better set of heads. How fast do you want to go? Is this part of the Paul senior controversy? Are you having a drag race? Or just think a V8 motorcycle is cool?
