CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co. China presented a high-speed train that can run on different rail systems. The train has a standard speed of 400 kilometers per hour and the company claims it can operate in different temperatures with excellent energy efficiency. The train can automatically shift between metre-gauge, standard-gauge or broad-gauge.

a great catastrophe in 2013 near Santiago de Compostela in Spain that caused 79 deaths involving a high-speed train with a variable gauge system, the Renfe S-730

i think this system is better used on regular passenger & freight trains, *NOT* high speed passenger trains
