Great video. Great points. I agree that using PPT slides does not work if used the way people use them in business. It is a GREAT WAY to have our thoughts, questions, and scripture references in front of us in a way that helps us keep our eyes on the class to look for body language that may guide the conversation the way the spirit would direct. Shuffling through notes on paper, 3x5 cards, a printed Word doc, etc., occupies our hands and adds a level of complexity to the presentation that makes it more difficult to teach. Using slides is also a great way to present clips from the talk and other related talks. When we have someone in the class read, or even when we read quotes as a part of the lesson, we can miss the emotion, intonation, body language, and meaning behind what the speaker was presenting. Class members will get significantly more out of hearing Elder Kearon's voice saying what we are quoting as opposed to someone reading it off a strip of paper. Using iMovie or some other software to cut out the parts we want to use and PPT to deliver those parts can make the lesson engaging and the spirit of the meeting much stronger. Using Elder McConkie's final talk is a great split test of the difference in impact. It is one thing to read it, but to watch it these many years later brings so much more to the experience.

"Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime." I did some introspection during your presentation and realized I really need to work on asking better questions. Hopefully, this will others and me on the path to greater understanding. " By Asking the right question you led them on a path of thought".

This is an excellent concept, and thanks for sharing! 🌟 This saying reminds us of the importance of empowerment and education. Giving people the tools and knowledge they need helps them become self-sufficient and create lasting changes, and it all starts with asking better questions. Let's continue to support and uplift one another!

Figuring out what questions to ask the sisters has been difficult for me. Thank you for sharing the question types. This resource is very helpful!

I believe teaching the gospel should always focus on Christ and refer to the scriptures, but I also believe what you said, that the answers should come from the Spirit, expressed by the participants. Do you have suggestions on how to incorporate the scriptures into the discussion? While the conference talk itself, given and received by the Holy Spirit, is scripture, I want to relate it to the scriptures given to us as anchors.

How do you remember all the questions you thought of to ask, and keep track of them and at what point you want to ask them? I find myself printing out lists that I refer to frequently during the class, and I hope it isn't a distraction, but I never found out whether it was.
