Stucco plastering a brick chimney.
Howy friends, FYI, we are located in Oakland Ca.

Below are all the basic tools we use and recommend on Amazon’s website.

A comment often asked with this video is about using bonding agents,
Don’t dilute bonding agents such as Quikrete or Weld-Crete when applying basecoats or concrete.
Remember, all bonding agents applied are only as good as the surface they’re applied to.
For example, the bonding agent won’t be as effective if a surface is not clean enough to eat off.

Does someone need a bonding agent for clean bricks, cement concrete, or blocks? No, but again it has to be clean, dust-free, and not painted.

Note; No stucco wire is necessary. In fact, stucco netting is counterproductive.
I’m giving some tips on resurfacing bricks with cement stucco in this video.

Last tip, scratch coats are not necessary for any porous walls, including, as in this video, bricks, Cinder blocks, Cement Blocks, Terra Cotta walls, or any other cementitious substrate. Instead, fill to the correct thickness; if you need to apply more than one coat, do so.

Thanks for watching, and wishing all a beautiful day!

Probably the most information-packed video on stucco materials and application I have seen. Concise and to the point. Very helpful. Thanks!

Please don't take any notice of negative stupid comments, from people who can't do better or have no tutorial videos themselves, your giving out amazing knowledge and I thoroughly enjoy your videos, I'm a master craftsman and teach apprentices and qualified tradesman in the U.K. And u get the thumbs up.

The best video i have seen on sand and cementing(rendering), that we call it in europe.

He is good at explaining all the steps, as newcomers need. Most videos ignore, the explaining of what they are doing. This helps alot for newcomers.

Thx for this video, very well done for any diyer to watch.

I am not a plasterer by trade nor is stucco hugely popular in Australia, but I can't stop watching these videos. Great work by Jason and Kirk's charisma and enthusiasm is pleasure to watch, also the ability to maintain crisp, clean white shirt at all times is fascinating. Salute!

Have been looking at a 100 year old house trying to decide if it is feasible. The Giordano team make it seem easy. However, I think I will practice first. Gotta say "What an Art!. Thanks

I watch a lot of your videos kirk and you do things so wildly different then i do. We aren't all taught to take the same path, but the destination is the same. I really enjoy your videos and I appreciate you putting yourself out there for others to enjoy and take from.

Here in the UK we would tend to render with 2 coats and rule off the top coat for more accuracy. When ready it would be floated up then have a quick run over with a sponge.

The only way you can become like this guy is through experience, you can't be taught this in a class.
