Oh boy was I happy to find this. I'm in my mid 60's and just started cooking. Unfortunately, my specialty seems to be burning things to the bottom of pans. Thanks Judi.

Thank you Judi! I cooked milk for ice cream and thought I would have to throw out my pot. Cooked on burnt milk would not budge until I found your video. You must have made this 7 years ago, but you are still helping lots of us. Thanks again Judi! You saved my pot!

Thank you so much for this wonderful tip!  I just tried it on a pot that was WAY more badly burned with milk than the one in this video, and it worked a treat - thank you!

This was very effective, I was making yogurt and got dustracted, so this was a huge lifesaver. But you don't need the vinegar! Vinegar and baking soda actually cancel each other out, creating salt and carbon dioxide which are both inert. The baking soda is the thing doing all the heavy lifting. I tested oxygen bleach (Oxyclean) soaked in the sink overnight. It does the same thing, but you don't need to boil it. Thanks for the helpful video, last time I burned milk I spent an hour with a brillo pad.

I tried heating milk in an electric water pot. Created a mess. I followed this procedure, two doses, glass pot good as new. Thanks!

For the first time, I cooked my rice pudding with lactose-free milk just to try it, but never will again! It left an enormous layer of blackened milk in the bottom of my pot and I thought that my pot was history, but before I threw it out, I googled 'how to' and found your video. Wow! I had to use your instructions TWICE to get it clean but clean and shiny as new it certainly is! Thank you, Judi.

I appreciate this. I'm a dumb 23 year old who wanted to make hot chocolate for my dad and ruined his pot. I hope this helps, I wish I was as wise as you haha

Even though the instructions on my kettle said to not put any liquids except for water in it. I didn't listen... lol I was an idiot and put milk in my Hamilton Beach Electric Kettle to heat it up, needless to say, I should have listened to the instructions. The milk was scorched and burnt to the bottom of the kettle. I didn't wanna scratch the bottom trying to scrub or scrape it off. I came across your video through Google. Followed your tips and it worked like a charm! I couldn't boil straight for 5 mins because my kettle turns itself off once it boils, so I had to bring it to a boil 5 times or so. But after cycling it through and opening the lid and looking inside all the burnt milk was floating. No scrubbing, no scratching! Amazing hack! Thank you so much! :D

Thank you!!!! I burnt milk black in my pot and spent a lot of time scrubbing it. I even tried a baking soda vinegar mix paste. No success. I googled and your video was the first to pop up. I had some hope but was prepared for disappointment as my milk was blacker than burnt. But I am amazed! Girl, it came off in less than a minute! My pan is saved! Thanks for the lesson in the kitchen! Hugs! I wish I could post before and after pics because it’s an amazing difference

Hi Judi! Thanks so much for posting. I burned a pot really badly and so I was a little skeptical whether this would be enough. And it worked - 100%!

Thanks Judi, this worked a treat and my pan was black with burnt milk. After 10 mins of simmering in the solution, it all just wiped off easily with a soft cloth. Fantastic.

So happy to find this, thanks to Google. Had soaked my pan overnight in detergent and hot water with no success. But this works!
