I agree. the web was also significantly a better defender. However, like you said, he freezes up a lot. I will still choose web over him but you can go either way

Amare was a monster. He only had 2 moves but he powered them in every single time and no one could stop him but his own knees. Then he developed a middy and was even more unguardable. Guaranteed bucket.

I love amare’s intensity man… a shame he wasn’t healthy in NY after the 1st season

It's simple. Chris Webber was a franchise player Amare was not. Stoudamire was and athletic high flying transition player that could also could grab some boards. Chris Webber in his prime was only behind Garnett and Duncan defensively, he was a really good defender but the other 2 were elite. Webber imo is also the best passing big man of his era and one of the best passing big men ever...and to answer the question of why Webber wasn't 1st every year is Barkley, Malone, Duncan and Garnett

Man I’ve watched Chis play since his high school days at Country Day. He played like his back was injured the majority of his career. If he would have been healthy there is no telling what he could of been.

Amare was one of the few that got drafted from High School. That’s how good he was.

That time out call is gonna haunt him 4EVER

Only reason he was not all-nba every year was because he played in probably the most dominant pf era ever with Duncan, KG, and Dirk

KG was the same way and people forgwt that.

I'll never forget there was a rumor of KG and webb playing together in the early 2000s and bill Simmons (kg lover now) wrote about how if it happened Webb and KG would play hot potato with the basketball late in basketball games. And that was true. Kg got nervous too.

I'd choose him bc of his playmaking. Amar'e is one of the most efficient players in that inefficient era. Underrated and bruiser

Talent wise C Webb should be in the same conversations as Duncan and KG. But he cheesed up a lot.

Chris Webber clears. People underestimate how poor of a defender Amare Stoudemire actually was. Watched tons of Laker-Suns games, he made Kwame Brown look very competent.

Very fair and honest discussion on two of the more dominant PF in recent history. Great ball knowledge from both as usual always been a Chilltown fan but Fluent is starting to grow on me as he is very sensible as well 👍🏾

Here’s a fact no other PF Killed Duncan in the playoffs the way Amar’e did.

C Webb arguably the 4th best PF of the 00s after the big 3 no shame in that still

This a bad debate. Both were killers by two different styles at power forward. Amare not tryna lay the ball up he just gone slam it every chance. Webb gone do more post moves and pump fakes like Hakeem or Ewing. Amare is more of a Shawn Kemp mix with Dominique Wilkins style.

C Webb would've meshed perfectly in todays era

All respect to Stoudemire. He went up against TD. But they needed to CHEAT for a Kobe & Shaq led team to hold this man back. CWebb was different

If the NBA didn't Rob kings in 2002 we would be talking about cwebb differently seriously also he wonders why cwebb wasn't 1st every year well the competition at PF at that time was nuts definitely in late 90s

Webber did not fold in the nba. He was killing. That college bs did not follow him. Webber was that guy. And as far as first team. He was in the west with TIM DUNCAN DIRK AND GARNETT.
