Chris Paul has never won an MVP or a Championship, but what if his unique skillset actually made him one of the best players in NBA History?

I'd love to watch you talk about Mutombo's defensive impact. I think it would be a beautiful tribute.

He's built joke franchises up wherever he went. Goat impact period. That OKC turnaround is most impressive feat ever

The whole Point Guard philosophy brings a smile to my face I could listen to you break down Magic, Nash, Kidd, Chris, Steph, Gp, Mark Jackson for hours

I can already see KOT4Q smiling while watching this video

I've watched Chris since his NO days, and I've been fascinated not only by the evolution of his game, but by how divisive the discourse around him is. Chris serves as a kind of Rorschach test of what you value in basketball. A lot of basketball hipsters revere his skill and play making, see him as some kind of Platonic ideal of the point guard. And then you have the casual ringz culture types who get their knowledge off 2K and gambling sites, who value stats above all else, and are left bewildered and resentful of the acclaim he receives, especially if they think it comes at the expense of players they prefer.
Chris in my eyes is both a massive overachiever, who could be even better if not for his stubborn personality and play style. His impact on the court, on both ends, is wildly out sized in relation to his size and athleticism, yet his dogged reluctance to hunt own shot until the 4th quarter hurts his teams, and his insistence on playing massive minutes has no doubt contributed to his infamous injury history. Chris constantly tries to play the game he's got in his head, not the one he's playing on the court, and that leaves him inflexible and slow to adapt, despite all his brilliance.
Nevertheless, he's my favorite point guard to watch. There are so many flashes of past greats in his game, from Stockton to Hardaway to Nash, even Tony Parker before he hurt his knee. But his insistence on only playing in his comfort zone has cost him greater success, maybe even a ring.

On the Suns he had some insane playoff games. He’s one of the best players to never win a ring

You can tell someone's knowledge of the game instantly by how they talk about Chris Paul. You really got kids putting guys like Kyrie and Westbrook over him all time

Paul's box score plus minus for his career is 6.9. Kobe Bryant's was 4.6. Funny how nobody talks about him as being the GOAT. (Jordan's was 9.2.)

Will you do Kobe? His game had so much detail you could do a 45 min video about it. He had so many moves and counters his bag was endless

Great vid. My only gripe is if you could break down his defense more. Imo it’s his most underrated trait as a player

Cp3 should be recognized as top 3 pg ever but because of ring culture people won't give it to him, especially when u take the awards out and compare straight performance/impact and skill, but like this video in time maybe after cp retires he will receive his due flowers and recognition. He's definitely a Top 20 player ever forget the hardware the eye test doesn't lie there was nobody better at what he did.
